After devouring nearly a hundred books on painting, Eastern Shore Maryland veterinarian Annie  McCoy picked up the paintbrush seriously in March, 2006. Her first competition was on the local level where she was awarded the People’s Choice.

Annie paints evenings, weekends, and on every trip or vacation anywhere she might travel.  She spends several weeks each year at her family’s home in Montana and in Yellowstone Park where she is inspired to paint western scenery.

Although she has studied under George Wright, Ralph Oberg, Jane Jones and Barbara Nuss, Annie continues to experience workshops whenever possible.  Her favorite artists are Matt Smith, Scott Christensen, and Howard Terpning.

Memberships include the Dorchester Center for the Arts, Oil Painters of American, Cider Painters of America, and the Plein Air Painters of America.
